Glory Zone: The Path to True Strength
My Word of the Year
I am looking for a year full of true strength while I step into my Glory Zone. I read once we are in our Glory Zone when we are stepping into our calling, that is where I want to be. For a few year now, I’ve been taking a yearly Word of the Year Quiz. This helps me get a picture of my calling for the year. “Create” is my word of the year.

Do you start a new year off with a hope for what it will be?
Stepping into the Unknown
As I have pondered what this will look like; I feel like God is getting me ready for more. More time writing. More time focusing on rest and more intentionality in my day. In the last few weeks sermons along with just conversations the words expectancy and intentionality keep showing up. To me, these words are a byproduct of Create.
For some time I have had to battle the negative thoughts. The constant record playing in my mind has been “you are too old for…” I have had to remind myself that our stories are unfolding as long as we are breathing; so God can use any of us at ANY time in our lives, we just need to look to Him.
"Look ahead to Me, I am always before you, beckoning you
on; one step at a time."
Doubt and Fear
Do you feel a call to something that feels too big for you? Does that call exposes your fears and insecurities? Sure does for me! I feel very uncomfortable and unequipped. I was reading something about this the other day and it stated that when we feel that way, it’s how we know it is our calling! This was mind blowing for me, to think that the very thing that is getting me to step outside my comfort zone, where I feel inadequate, is exactly what I am called to do. WOW! We conceal our calling by remaining in our comfort zones. I don’t want to be comfortable.
I have spent he last year with this BIG idea that God has given me to be a help to women in my community that are walking through some things that are holding them hostage or stifling their true God given calling. I have spent the last few weeks talking myself out of making the next step towards this goal. The mental lists I have made of reasons why it’s impossible for me to do it have been ongoing. And you know, on my own I can’t But with God on my side, He will give me the courage to take that next right step.

I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] (Phil 4:13 AMP)
I want to step out in boldness, bravery, and remove anything that is keeping me from taking the leap that God wants me to take. 100 Days of Believing Bigger devotional has helped me believe I can leap
“God desires that we become leapers instead of watchers,”- Marshawn Evan Daniels
Take the Leap
What are you currently dreaming about but feel stuck to do? Can reframing your thinking, getting rid of the “stinking thinking”, help you find some courage and excitement to take the next step?
Are you telling yourself some of the same things I have been? Like, I don’t think I am the person to do this? But God gave me the vision! Or, I am not educated enough in x, y or z to complete this project? He has brought people into my life to support and maybe partner with me in it.
The questions and excuses could go on and on. Please listen to me; if God put it on your heart and in your mind, then you are the person to do the thing. He will guide you through. Be patient through the process and remember all things are best in God’s timing, so it might be a slow process.
What Glory Zone is God calling you to step into this year? I’d love to hear about it. Send me a message, and let me pray for you as you take your next step! If you are interested in more on this topic I share more in a past post.
Even if you’re unsure of your faith or calling right now, I believe you are here for a reason, and I am cheering you on in your journey.
